Full Job Description

The key purpose of the IT Asset Manager is to ensure the company makes efficient use of its IT assets, whilst minimising risk and maintaining compliance. You will ensure that appropriate resources and processes are in place throughout the asset lifecycle, to identify current and emerging risks. As the subject matter expert for the continuous improvement of IT asset management processes, you will work closely with key business stakeholders and vendor/suppliers to influence cost effective usage. This is what you could be doing:

  • Ensuring software usage compliance through adherence to legal, regulatory, and company security and technology policies.
  • Maximising the value of our IT assets by minimising the cost of ownership throughout the asset lifecycle.
  • Conducting regular software verification and audits, reconciling software license entitlements against purchase records and usage data to maintain an updated view of the company's Effective License Position.
  • Collaborating with Head of IT Services and CIO, providing essential information for annual planning and tracking estimates versus actual spend to support IT department financial management objectives.
  • Embedding IT strategy into asset lifecycle planning to align with department strategic objectives.
  • Remediating software licenses that are operating outside of entitlements, addressing non-compliance issues with urgency.
  • Engaging stakeholders on IT asset-related matters, providing reporting, and driving action as required.

ITIL certification, demonstrating a strong foundation in IT Service Management.
  • It would be desirable if you are familiar with ITAM principles.
  • Proven experience in onboarding and managing suppliers, with a solid understanding of EULAs and T&Cs.
  • Strong relationship building skills, enabling effective collaboration with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
  • Proficiency in analysing and interpreting contractual terms and conditions, particularly in relation to software usage and their financial implications.
  • Prior experience working with various software license models, such as Microsoft Enterprise Agreements and Adobe licensing.

An excellent remuneration, Company Car, discretionary bonus and 27 days holiday in addition to statutory bank holidays plus much more!
