Full Job Description

As the Sales Account Manager, you'll be expected to perform duties as detailed below:

  • Operate as the lead point of contact for assigned client accounts - acquire a strong knowledge of the clients within their portfolio and define the best way to service their needs.

  • Gain a deep understanding of their business model, values, capabilities, products, and services and be able to articulate this to customers.

  • Build strong and long-lasting client relationships as their trusted contact, translating to retention and revenue growth.

  • Present in client workshops as well as internal monthly meetings, and steering committees to deliver company updates.

  • Monitor client success to share best practices and identify new business opportunities that result in ongoing value delivery, and identification of expansion opportunities.

  • Identify and define internal management processes and tools that strengthen their ability to deliver to clients.

  • Communicate within and across internal functions, reporting on the progress of initiatives and client activities with a focus on documenting opportunities.

  • Identify new business opportunities in different parts of existing client organisations.

  • Prepare relevant materials (call scripts, emails, presentations) to facilitate pitching to new contacts.

  • Approach new contacts to explore opportunities for engagement.

  • Negotiate, and close new proposals, up-selling, renewals, and new business opportunities, including creating and owning relevant contracts for clients, often bespoke to individual customers or engagements.

  • Update the CRM system (HubSpot) on a regular basis to ensure timely and proper data capture for company visibility, tools alignment and proactive account management as well as to aid customer segmentation.

  • Draft, write, and schedule social media and marketing campaigns.

  • Take initiative with company marketing outside of social media posts.

  • Assist/Provide input to senior management for Company reporting.

  • Adherence to CIT governance following guidelines, templates, and process that has been defined and documented, contributing to improving said processes.

  • Implementation and maintenance of Sales and Account Management processes.


  • WORKING HOURS
  • Monday to Friday (9.30-6pm) - 37.5 hours per week

    We're looking for a results-driven and business-focused Sales Account Manager with 3+ years' experience to join our core team based in the UK. As the sole Account Manager in the company, the ideal candidate will be comfortable working independently and hold a strong sense of responsibilityfor owning all of CIT's accounts, consistently managing client relationships with a detail-oriented approach. With a high level of confidence, the successful candidate will be comfortable pro-actively driving communications to keep relationships active by various means, including regular effective telephone conversations.


  • Strong IT literacy as well as prior experience of working within IT/software development organisations is essential enabling the successful candidate to build deeper relationships with CIT's existing clients and form strong connections with new clients by understanding in depth their business and proactively identifying opportunities.

    Upselling with a strong handle on active engagements to initiate the next contract is required maintaining commitment from clients. The candidate should have strong verbal and written communication skills anddemonstrate persistence and resilience to understand customer behaviour and show initiative to influence key client stakeholders. Strong listening, consultative and presentation skills will enable them to be effective when driving commercial consultation workshops with a result of sale.

    As a consultancy working with many different clients, we require someone who is self-organised enabling management of multiple clients and engagements from lead generation to closure of engagement. Due to the nature of our business, the candidate will need to be comfortable working in a non-transactional environment and adapt according to the individual account or lead at hand.

    Strong organisation skills and diligence will be demonstrated by consistent maintenance of our CRM system (HubSpot), providing a transparent well-documented position of all client relationships and leads, forming a pipeline of work for the next 6 months. Along with this, active communication is necessary to ensure senior management have a clear view of the status of all relationships and engagements, as well as the ability to determine this from HubSpot without needing further information. Working with the Resource Manager, the successful candidate will ensure that resourcing of new contracts align with the central resource plan. On a regular basis they will be able to efficiently provide input to various company reports.,
  • 3 or more years of proven experience of working as an Account Manager or Customer Success Manager, or similar.

  • Prior experience of working with IT / software development organisations is essential.

  • Highly IT literate.

  • Self-organised enabling management of multiple clients and engagements from lead generation to closure of engagement.

  • Interpersonal skills and presence to build relationships and influence key client stakeholders.

  • A proactive approach and an ability to showcase account leadership to address client needs.

  • Sense of urgency; ability to problem solve and troubleshoot in a timely manner.

  • Solid organisation, planning and prioritisation abilities.

  • Excellent writing, presentation, and communication skills with a natural flair for translating these communications dependent on the audience.

  • Aptitude for working in a data-driven business.

  • Proactive attitude - highlights and identifies opportunities for improvement and acts upon them.

  • Influential stakeholder management at all levels of seniority across both the business, the technical teams, and the internal stakeholders at CIT.

  • Confident attitude to challenge stakeholders, reporting to Project Management and the Company Director, and driving the business goals to success.

  • Self-motivated and proactive, being someone that takes ownership over their work.

  • Accuracy and attention to detail.

  • Able to work in a team and independently with little supervision.

  • Must be comfortable working with CRM applications and happy to record all activities within it as well as ensure a very high level of data quality.

  • Should have access to a computer/laptop.
