Full Job Description

Corndel is now at the stage in its growth where we are looking for a permanent IT Director to lead, develop and manage our IT Strategy, infrastructure, governance and support services to deliver the next stage of growth for the business. Currently we have a small IT support and infrastructure team with specific data governance and application owners sitting in various teams in the business. The IT Director will have overall accountability and responsibility for IT strategy, governance and operational effectiveness, ensuring that these are fit for purpose and that we have an integrated approach to IT management in the business. Scope of the role The focus of the role is on IT and technology requirements supporting the management of our business and our back-office operations, e.g. Microsoft suite, Operational, HR, Finance systems etc. Technology development for learning technologies as part of our external product offer sit with our Product Development team. However, once new learning technologies are agreed and implemented as part of our product evolution, the ongoing management and internal IT support for these tools transfer to the IT function, under the responsibility of the IT Director This will enable these tools to be integrated and governance and IT security oversight provided. Therefore, the Head of Information Technology will have a role to play in the implementation of new or enhancement to our learning technologies.,

  • Technology Assessment - Understand business needs and evaluate strengths and weaknesses of current infrastructure, solutions and operations.
  • Develop and agree our IT strategy and change plan - both transformational and tactical plans to address needs and issues.
  • Understand and bring into the business an understanding of trends, developments and changes in the IT landscape, developing impact assessments, plans and recommendations to address and respond.
  • Effectively lead, manage and motivate a high performing and inclusive IT team.
  • Deliver an effective, efficient and reliable IT Support Service.
  • Evolve our IT policies, processes and guidance to support the governance, integration and support effective decision making.
  • Ensure the business and its data is protected and delivering against Corndel's key responsibilities for data governance and security.
  • Maximise the efficiency of our IT operations, ensuring effective planning and budgetary and management controls are in place.
  • Effectively manage our 3rd party agents and suppliers supporting our IT systems and infrastructure.
  • Key Experience & Skills
  • Previous delivery experience as a Head of IT or IT Director within a growing online business, ideally with experience developing strategies and plans to evolve, integrate and scale technologies to support business growth.

    Bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science or a related field, ideally with recognised external certification in IT/information security.
  • Proven experience in IT management and leadership positions, having demonstrated growing and developing high performance teams and individuals.
  • Previous experience of successfully delivering IT projects and change.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration and team working skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, adapt at understanding risks, issues and opportunities and developing clear solutions.
  • Highly curious with a learning orientation around market trends, industry news and solutions.
