Full Job Description

The IT and Facilities Assistant works closely with the IT Manager, providing technical support to colleagues, maintaining the organisation's IT infrastructure and ensuring smooth day-to-day operations both from an IT perspective and in the case of our buildings, office space and facilities in Ilkley and Leeds. Due to the nature of this work, this role is primarily based from our Ilkley office. IT Support Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose and resolve 1st line support issues and support the IT Manager to resolve 2nd line issues.
  • Manage software and hardware incidents which occur in Windows Mac & Linux OS and across a range of software applications. Log support queries using the ticket system.
  • Approve/monitor windows updates and software patches on Windows laptops, desktop and servers including Mac and Linux machines.
  • Arrange repairs in and out of warranty.
  • InfoSec (working with Legal & Compliance Manager)
  • Cyber Essentials
  • Data protection
  • Phishing simulations
  • Cyber security employee training
  • Regular Monitoring of:
  • Server Backups
  • Google Workspace backup
  • ESET AV
  • NinjaOne
  • Kandji
  • DMARC reports
  • USecure
  • Work with the IT Manager to:
  • Configure and install new IT equipment and support the roll-out of new IT services and applications
  • Asset management using RMM tool to look at replacement schedule
  • Support the onboarding of new colleagues and offboard users (both in the office or remotely) in collaboration with the HR team
  • Improve policies in RMM software, Ninja One & Kandji and various other apps such as Google security policies and DLP rules.
  • Facilities responsibilities:
  • Work with the IT Manager to ensure that our buildings, facilities, and the overall workplace environment operate efficiently, safely and cost-effectively.
  • Keep up with regular maintenance contracts including: fire alarm system, security access system/door access, CCTV, cleaning services, groundskeeper/gardener, gutter clearing, car park barrier/window & door shutters, logging maintenance/repair work
  • Visit our Leeds office space (Regus) quarterly, checking it is clean and operating effectively, passing on any announcements to the rest of the business.
  • Monitor the grounds/parking area at our Ilkley office, raising any issues.
  • Make sure health, safety, and building regulations are met.

  • Previous experience within an IT support environment would be beneficial with good technical knowledge.
  • Able to effectively communicate with a range of stakeholders including colleagues and external suppliers.
