Full Job Description

Genmar is seeking an enthusiastic IT Apprentice to join their team and gain hands-on experience in IT support. You will be involved in a variety of tasks ranging from troubleshooting to network configuration, all while providing exceptional support to small and medium-sized businesses. This is an excellent opportunity to kick-start your IT career in a supportive and proactive environment. In this role, youll work towards your IT Support Level 3 Apprenticeship delivered by our expert training team at Baltic Apprenticeships. A Typical Day in the Job: IT Support: Provide technical assistance via ticketing system (Halo), email, phone, and face-to-face interactions, solving issues such as password resets, network troubleshooting, and system updates. Security Configuration: Implement antivirus setups, configure routers, switches, andfirewalls, and manage security processes like group policy deployment. Hardware Support: Configure new PCs, repair and replace damaged components, and work with

wireless and wired network devices, including Wi-Fi ports and servers. Cloud Technology: Get hands-on experience with Microsoft 365, SharePoint, AWS, and Azure cloud platforms. Troubleshooting: Use tools like Wireshark, Task Manager, and IT Glue to track tasks, escalate issues, and document work processes. Software Installation and Upgrades: Install and upgrade software on client OS and Office 365, including patching and driver updates. Full training and support will be provided by your workplace mentor and from the Baltic team. Salary, Hours & Benefits: Salary: £18,000 per annum. 37.5 hours per week (Mon-Fri, 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM) Personalised Development Plan: Includes customer service training, helpdesk KPIs, and certifications, with salary increases at each level of progression. Desired Qualities, Skills and Knowledge: Strong communication skills with an excellent telephone manner. Knowledge of Windows OS and Microsoft Office packages. Analytical problem-solving with a desire to learn and adapt quickly. A passion for IT with a willingness to gain industry-recognized qualifications. Grade 4/C in Math's and 5/C in English Your Training with Baltic: This apprenticeship provides the skills, qualifications and experience you need to immerse yourself in an exciting, fast-moving industry and become an effective IT Support apprentice.
