Full Job Description
It is our mission to identify and protect vulnerable people, prevent and respond to harm and keep people safe. The Role To deliver blended methods of training across the Technical Training curriculum. Applicants should be keen to learn and deliver key information around key policing systems e.g. Niche UA. It is important that the successful candidate will be able to demonstrate how they have been able to coach people through learning a new skills or knowledge.,
- To prepare and deliver systems training and complete the associated administration around learning that this entails. Key Technical Training products include Niche, PNC and PND.
- To support and manage learning and assessment activities to ensure progress of learners through each course and liaise with key stake holders to support learners in achieving their goals within their probation/development.
- Deliver several L&PD topics using varied learning styles and to obtain technical subject matter knowledge where required to maintain training standards across the force.
- The ability to deliver blended learning. These include virtual environments, eLearning, classroom-based delivery, 1-1 tutorials.
- To develop and maintain strong relationships with key departments both in Surrey and Sussex to ensure appropriate content is being delivered to students.
- Assist other members of the Learning and Development team as required and any other duties as determined by the Team leader (as are compatible with the post).
- To recognise, supervise and challenge inappropriate behaviour displayed in the training environment in a professional manner to ensure that Force standards of behaviour are maintained.
- To assist in the occasional delivery of the Special Constable induction programme. This is delivered on weekends, with a frequency of 3-4 per year which are shared between the team (additional shift allowance or overtime will be paid).
Existing knowledge, skills and experience in the use of Niche and PNC is desirable. Knowledge of Niche Case File building is favourable. - A recognised training qualification in Learning and Development is desirable, but equally not essential as we will be able to support you with developing the skills you need.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills together with the ability to facilitate the development of others and to influence and empower students so that they can make any required adjustments to their behaviour.
- Excellent presentation skills with the ability to facilitate workshops for individuals & teams, adapting to learners needs where appropriate.
- The ability to demonstrate a comprehensive understanding and appreciation of the concept of diversity, with the ability to embed this knowledge throughout all learning and professional development programmes.
- Well developed written communication skills and the ability to produce clear, concise and accurate records and reports.
- Highly motivated with the ability to work on own initiative, under minimal supervision.
- Is experienced with Microsoft Office products, with accurate keyboard skills.
The starting salary for this role will usually be at the bottom of the salary range and will be pro-rata if the working hours are less than full time.
