Full Job Description

As a Registered Nurse you will be responsible for supporting your manager in ensuring that our service user's needs are met through the delivery of high quality care. As a centre of excellence, you will be offer a person centered approach to their independence and well-being. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Nurse to develop both clinically and professionally by joining our OPAT service (outpatient parenteral antimicrobial therapy). You will be working with an existing IV Nurse Practitioner and will need to be able to work flexibly to cover a Mon-Fri service. If you have recent experience of caring for patients with Central / PICC intravenous lines and administering IV medicines this would be an advantage and we would like to hear from you. However in house training will be given to support development in this area. Ideally you should have prior experience with treating and advising patients with clinical care. This could be either in and or out of the hospital
setting, to include nurse led clinics., To support all aspects of service delivery of a Community IV service for patients attending the Royal United Hospital Bath. This high quality seamless service crossing organisational and professional boundaries in primary and secondary care will provide a safe alternative to acute hospital care in appropriately selected patients. This will minimise institutionalism, reducing healthcare associated complications including infections, significantly improving the quality of life of both the patients and their carers at all stages of the care pathway.

You should be able to work autonomously and have evidence of teaching and training staff, patients and carers. Your communication skills must be excellent, as you will communicate with all levels of staff in both the acute and Primary Care setting.
