  • This vacancy is not suitable for Overseas Registered Nurses required to take the OSCE exam. You must already be NMC registered
  • The FLS CNS role will identify, assess, investigate, treat, and follow up patients 50 and over who have sustained fragility fractures. Mostly based at the Weston General Hospital, the role will involve ward based assessments, nurse led clinics, arranging osteoporosis investigations, supporting patients who require bone protection and follow up of these patients at 4 and 12 months. The Bristol Royal Infirmary (BRI) Fracture Liaison Service is a high performing and nationally recognised service which contributes to the National FLS database, regularly out-performing other services in fracture identification and patient follow up. We are working to expand this service to the Weston site and the successful candidate will be working cross site with support from the existing team. The successful candidate will be supported to undertake training that is relevant to the role, this will allow the candidate to order DXA scans and to complete IRMER training. We pride ourselves in attention to detail and the patient experience, despite identifying 1700 patients per year. We use the first fracture to prevent the next. Ideally you will be an experience nurse working in a relevant speciality with non-medical prescribing.
