We're looking for a great all rounder to join the Radio Bristol team, as Journalism Coordinator you could be working on a range of programmes including our weekday Breakfast Show with Joe Sims. You'll have a good knowledge of the Radio Bristol area and understanding of our audience. You'll already have some experience of working as part of a programme production team and have knowledge of our editorial and broadcast systems. Day to day you'll need to help set up and output programmes and you may also be required to gather material and broadcast on air. This job will be fast moving, require someone who has lots of ideas and is highly organised but also a lot of fun! We work in a truly multiplatform way so you'll need to be always thinking about how the content you help create can work for our audiences on our digital platforms including BBC Sounds, social media and online., Helping prepare and output live radio programmes
Researching and gathering material for output, assisting production and presentation teams
Ability to gather for digital platforms
Good writing, technical and broadcast skills

• Knowledge of the BBC Radio Bristol area - the stories and issues that matter


• A good understanding of the local radio audience


• Experience working in a live radio production environment


• Good editorial judgment and ability to write clearly and accurately


• Highly organised and knows that paying attention to the details really matters


• Knowledge of our editorial and technical systems - willing to learn new skills.


• Plenty of ideas and initiative and willing to contribute in meetings


• A great team player


• Happy to work a range of shifts which could include early mornings and weekends
