Full Job Description

You'll be key to the radio output working in the studio, answering and helping to select callers, clipping and producing audio, along with providing technical and studio support to the team at all times.

The successful candidate will thrive in a live environment and will be part of a team delivering live radio.

We are looking for great collaborators to be part of this team.

We want you to contribute ideas, guests and features to make our programmes sound the very best they can.

You will work with producers on the developing the best systems for planning and assisting with all aspects of the production.

You'll work as part of a team to always put the BBC Local Radio opportunity audience of Traditional Values Audiences centre stage.

You'll use our new visualised studio to spot opportunities for social media and digital content and be the person to make the initial video edit that the Social team will then advance.

You will be responsible along with the rest of the team for ensuring our high editorial standards are adhered to and impartiality is across all content.

We're looking for someone with brilliant live radio production skills familiar with working in an ops area or studios.

You'll be a great audio editor able to take and turnaround clips and edit interviews.

You'll have skills and experience of answering phone calls during a radio show and being able to spot the callers that will sound great on-air - and be able to filter out the ones who won't.

We're looking for someone who is able to suggest ideas for guests and the sorts of stories that will generate interaction and talkability.

You'll be a great studio desk driver and someone who can fault-find and work with the Producers to find technical fixes and work-arounds for any issues that might occur.

We're looking for a great digital creator who can help the team in producing the very best digital content that can represent and promote the show on BBC Sounds & Social Media

Have a good understanding of the systems used in Local BBC Radio including IMI Social, VILOR, BNCS, Open Media, MS Teams.

We are looking for a talented Journalism Coordinator to be at the heart of our relationship with our local audiences working at BBC Radio Manchester primarily on the Late Show.

The Late Show broadcasts across BBC Local Radio Stations in England and the Channel Islands from 10pm to 1am. This position is part of the team that delivers the programme from Sunday to Thursday from Media City, Salford.
