Full Job Description

Daily studio production between 1000 and 1400 with the ability to cope with breaking news, moving stories forward and bringing a sense of the day to the BBC Radio Norfolk audience.

Creating one off features, week long strands and regular outside broadcasts to ensure a creative Programme environment.

Regular feedback and programe meetings to review and drive the programme forward, ensuring it is meeting the programme brief and audiences needs.

Liasing between the Breakfast team and Story team to ensure the day's themes are reflected in the programme, equally, BBC wide and BBC Local Radio campaigns will be reflected in the programme.

Ability to edit audio and operate the BBC Local Radio desk, ensure that guest data including 50:50 data is captured so that we are reflecting the diverse needs of our audience.

This role requires you to be a driven, creative person - able to live produce to get the best out of a presenter, able to cope with breaking news as it develops on air, able to feedback and discuss ideas.

You'll have an ability to create ear-catching radio which you can easily convert to a digital platform, a wealth of creative ideas for one off specials, week-long strands and big moments for the programme.

At home in the studio and on outside broadcasts, you'll be able to get the best out of a presenter in both environments and know how to get the best out of that relationship.

You'll have a comprehensive understanding of our audience - not just what their interests are, but spotting trends as well as points to engage with the ability to bring light and shade to programmes in equal measure.

BBC Radio Norfolk is looking for a talented, inspired individual bursting with creative ideas to work alongside another journalist and our presenter/producer to shape, create and drive our Daytime programme and reflect the Norfolk audience. We serve a large, diverse community from King's Lynn in the west to the city of Norwich to the coastal community of Great Yarmouth and everything in between., The BBC is committed to redeploying employees seeking suitable alternative employment within the BBC for different reasons and they will be given priority consideration ahead of other applicants. Priority consideration means for those employees seeking redeployment their application will be considered alongside anyone else at risk of redundancy, prior to any individuals being considered who are not at risk.

We don't focus simply on what we do - we also care how we do it. Our values and the way we behave are important to us. Please make sure you've read about our values and behaviours here.

Diversity matters at the BBC. We have a working environment where we value and respect every individual's unique contribution, enabling all of our employees to thrive and achieve their full potential.

We want to attract the broadest range of talented people to be part of the BBC - whether that's to contribute to our programming or our wide range of non-production roles. The more diverse our workforce, the better able we are to respond to and reflect our audiences in all their diversity.

We are committed to equality of opportunity and welcome applications from individuals, regardless of age, gender, ethnicity, disability, sexual orientation, gender identity, socio-economic background, religion and/or belief. We will consider flexible working requests for all roles, unless operational requirements prevent otherwise.
