Full Job Description

Salary: £27,300 - £32,533 depending on relevant skills, knowledge and experience. The expected salary range for this role reflects internal benchmarking and external market insights., Local knowledge of the patch is very useful, as is a passion for storytelling. In our newsroom, no two days are ever the same. You'll have the ability to tell stories from across the area in a creative and dynamic way that engage with our audience. You'll be great at telling those stories we cover in an engaging way. You will look to ensure a full diversity of voices, meeting high journalistic standards and observing the BBC Editorial Guidelines. Whilst these shows are broadcast on three stations (BBC Radio Kent, BBC Radio Sussex, BBC Radio Surrey), you'll have ideas on how to produce bespoke content tailored for each of those audiences and get the very best from our presenter and other colleagues who work on these shows.

We're looking for a talented, proactive studio producer to work on our Weekend Breakfast Show, which broadcasts across Kent, Sussex and Surrey. Creativity is really important in this role. You'll be a good team player and you'll be brimming with ideas on news stories to share with your colleagues and our audience. You'll also have the ability to recognise how we can share those stories in a variety of ways, not just on the radio, but on digital platforms as well.
You will work as part of the wider BBC South East news operation. We have established new work flows, so adaptability and teamwork are essential.

BBC Radio Sussex has a rare opportunity to join our talented team of broadcast journalists based in Brighton.
