Full Job Description

Financial - Month End and Forecasting, for international business channel (Franchise and Wholesale):

  • Review, validate monthly actuals, alongside calculating accruals for review with line manager.
  • Provide accurate, value add commentary and reporting (monthly/quarterly) across the wholesale and franchise channels, from sales through to operating income to the relevant stakeholders.
  • Highlight any trends and performing variance analysis, digesting the reports and speaking to stakeholders to ensure action is taken to address if necessary
  • Take an active role in the monthly forecasting process including forecast model management and uploading into the system
  • Constantly looking to improve reporting speed through process enhancement / systems utilisation
  • Financial - Budgeting and Long Range Plan, for international business channel (Franchise and Wholesale):
  • Support the delivery of the annual budget and LRP, with key involvement across the entire channel P&Ls from sales to operating income.
  • This will involve calendarizing meeting with various stakeholders to ensure the budget is reflects both operational and financial goals, and that all collaborative and supportive documentation are generated. Further the role will be loading the budget into the systems.
  • Support in producing the presentation deck & all associated backing templates & reconciliations.
  • Workforce Management, for retail business (all brands in UK/EU):
  • Work closely with to assist in the implementation and successful adoption of a new labour scheduling tool in UO and AN across UK and Europe.
  • Reporting, provide accurate, value add reporting (weekly/monthly/quarterly) on store payroll (Hours and £) vs budget and forecast
  • Budget and Forecasting, support the process ensuring store labour is planned in accordance with the scheduling tool outputs ensuring goal alignment with Retail/Finance teams across UO/AN.
  • Maintain and update labour model to ensure accurate weekly hours are generated for scheduling as well as assisting in the support of the automated labour scheduling model.
  • Capital, New site capex and Lease renewals, (for UO and Anthropologie):
  • Be an active partner in the capital process, regarding the initial financial review of new retail sites and existing lease renegotiations - ensuring all inputs are accurate and aligned across the brands.
  • Conduct follow up reviews on post opening analysis.
  • Co-ordinate and own the information flow, general communication and actions from various property meetings, compiling notes and presentation as appropriate.
  • General / Other:
  • Ad hoc support as appropriate and able to deputise as/when required.
  • Support and provide financial analysis and support to a broad range of business partners as appropriate.
  • General reporting across UO and AN Brand Finance.

    The role will involve core elements, across financial planning, analytics and basic management accounts. You will also encompass more commercial and operational elements, such as supporting the development of the automated labour scheduling tool and involvement in the capital process, really exposing you to many aspects of our financial department. This means you will need to be flexible and patient, working diligently in the detail, with high accuracy and efficiency (especially within excel). You should have a pro-active and naturally inquisitive nature, with an analytical and business centric ethos, and an ability to adapt and grow with the role and team as their experience develops. A keen & quick eye - both to detail / data integrity, as well as an ability to spot the wider story is vital - thus must be at ease with large volumes of complex data, across multiple systems and still be able to summarise coherently and accurately to a wide audience.,

  • Relevant experience in an analytical commercial role or a financially based degree. Retail knowledge an advantage
  • Competent across Microsoft Office reporting - with strong Excel & Power-Point skills
  • Knowledge of financial systems Hyperion HFM, Essbase or MicroStrategy desirable but not essential
  • Proven ability to utilize and quickly adapt to new software and reporting systems
