Full Job Description

Sharpsmart Bid Team have an opportunity for a Junior Bid Manager to join our Commercial Support Department. This full time permanent role can by hybrid split between home and our Ashby De La Zouche office. The Junior Bid Manager will co-ordinate and compile tender submissions, write technical and quality responses, manage communication throughout the tender period whilst ensuring all bids are 100% compliant.
This role would suit candidates with experience from a bid writer or bid coordinator role.

Your role will involve:

  • Monitor tender portals for new opportunities and tender releases

  • Dissect and summarise tender documents upon release, sending out to internal key stakeholders

  • Coordinate Clarification requests and responses via relevant portals

  • Complete Selection Questionnaires (SQs) and Pre-Qualification Questionnaires (PQQs)

  • Communicate with various internal business units to collate tender specific information

  • Participate in bid kick off and review meetings

  • Lead storyboarding meetings with commercial and operations teams

  • Write content for tender submissions ensuring this is completed in a timely manner

  • Proofread, finalise and submit compliant tender submissions via tender portals

  • Develop and drive the continuous improvement of the internal Bid Library containing tender responses, company information, case studies and images

  • Dissect tender feedback to identify areas for improvement or competitive advantages and report back to business

  • Attend business update meetings to identify new developments for inclusion within tenders

  • Support commercial team with sales proposals or Duty of Care questionnaires as required

  • Support for company sustainability or social value programmes as required

    Understanding of bid/tender process with excellent technical and persuasive response writing capability (minimum 2 years' experience)

  • Excellent planning and organising skills with the ability to multitask with varying workloads, also process driven with good analytical skills

  • Positive attitude, team-oriented, self-starter who can work alone and in a collaborative manner to achieve team goals

  • Strong interpersonal skills and able to build effective working relationships with people at all levels of the business

  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills with experience of understanding large amounts of information and communicating general themes effectively

  • Highly competent in use of all Microsoft Packages

  • Understanding of public procurement practices

  • Experience of writing tenders for the NHS or writing waste tenders (desirable)
