We'll broaden your horizons

The Operations PMO was created in Jun'21 and is responsible for maximising BDOs change investment; helping deliver Change in the most effective and efficient way; track, record and report on expectation, help build change delivery capability across the firm; and bring in teams to help the firm deliver.

We'll help you succeed

Leading organisations trust us because of the quality of our advice. That quality grows from a thorough understanding of their business, and that understanding comes from working closely with them and building long-lasting relationships.

You'll be someone who is both comfortable working proactively and managing your own tasks, as well as confident collaborating with others and communicating regularly with senior managers, directors, and BDO's partners to help businesses effectively. You'll be encouraged to identify and draw attention to opportunities for enhancing our delivery and providing additional services to organisations we work with.

The Junior Business Readiness Manager will report into the Senior Business Readiness Manager. In this role you'll apply business readiness techniques to projects of limited scale or complexity with high quality outputs. You will also act as a trusted point of contact, expertise and support, often for colleagues less experienced in Business Readiness techniques

You'll also:

  • Liaise with key stakeholders to design and develop business readiness plans

  • Ensure business readiness plans (including deliverables) are included in overall project planning (one plan for delivery)

  • Critically evaluate information to make independent decisions within limits of authority

  • Resolve non routine issues by escalating to technical experts (including Business Readiness Managers, Sponsors, Project and Programme Managers)

  • Use existing reporting tools to coordinate the baselining and tracking of business readiness for each project or process change

  • Liaise with internal resources to coordinate communication, engagement and training activities

  • Contribute to, or review communications and training content, processes and procedures

  • Report business readiness progress and escalate issues, risks and challenges to the project team

  • Work with Business Readiness Managers to maintain business readiness suite of artefacts for use by the Ops PMO team and the wider business

  • Assist with wider business readiness activities with the business, such as coaching and training (i.e. lunch and learns)

  • Work with the wider PMO team to share regular communications, new ways of working and success stories

  • Build strong relationships with the business, project and PMO stakeholders

  • Determine whether business readiness desired outcomes were achieved through readiness and adoption assessments, ensuring any lessons learned are captured by the project team

The ability to communicate behavioural, role and/or process changes clearly and succinctly

  • The ability to remain flexible and adaptable to the changing nature of in-flight and new projects

  • Aptitude to work collaboratively across different stakeholder, business and internal project teams

  • Strong planning and organisation skills

  • Some experience of Business Change Management, preferably gained within professional services

  • Experience related to change management on projects where a change management approach has been designed, implemented and monitored throughout the lifecycle of the change in place

  • You'll be able to be yourself; we'll recognise and value you for who you are and celebrate and reward your contributions to the business. We're committed to agile working, and we offer every colleague the opportunity to work in ways that suit you, your teams, and the task at hand.
