About the Procurement Team and the Role The Procurement team are responsible for supporting the relevant business divisions in driving the best commercial value of the goods and services that THG creates and sells. The work the team does is critical in ensuring the business is competitive in the market., Reporting to one of the Operations Procurement Category Managers, the Indirect Junior Buyer will be responsible for ensuring the effective management of a portfolio of spend up to £25 million. In addition to their day-to-day responsibilities, the postholder will liaise with a wide range of internal Operations stakeholders to achieve wider business objectives and deliver key projects.,

  • Effectively manage a portfolio of spend up to £25million
  • Utilise sourcing strategies that meet procurement and relevant function objectives
  • Identify innovative solutions to reduce costs and improve the benefits THG realises from our supply chain
  • Support in conducting both tactical and strategic tenders by producing commercial scoring/ evaluation criteria and analysing proposals/ bids in accordance with best practice procurement
  • Develop ability to independently negotiate commercial terms and clauses for contracts within your spend remit and any sub-category area
  • Communicating and influencing cross-functional stakeholders
  • Ensuring procurement meet key project deadlines by outlining project timelines and aligning these with key stakeholders at the beginning of each activity

    1-3 years' experience in Indirect Procurement, with a broad range of categories (Operations being favourable but not essential)
  • Very strong analytical (data interpretation) and numerical skills
  • Problem-solving skills
  • High Commercial awareness
  • Autonomous and decisive approach to work
  • Strong communication skills and confidence when liaising with senior stakeholders and suppliers
  • Proficient in using Microsoft Office to a high standard, particularly Excel
  • A thirst to learn, develop and progress quickly
