Full Job Description
The vacancy has opened as the result of an internal transfer, we're looking for an enthusiastic Junior Underwriter to join our Captive team in Mark Lane, London. If you have an analytical approach or background and the ability to build strong relationships, we would love to hear from you! What will you be doing? As part of the Captive Underwriting team, your role will consist of:
- Design, negotiation, and implementation of Captive fronting programmes, including pricing of fees, execution of collateral and reinsurance documentation
- Work with local Customer and Broker distribution teams to ensure effective ongoing sales performance
- Drive business development with distributors by identifying opportunities or issues and taking the necessary actions.
- Fundamental Financial Analysis at counterparty credit risk level.
- Risk assessment of credit risk embedded in underwriting transactions.
- Work within Zurich guidelines and risk policy ensuring compliance with all guidance.
- Support senior captive underwriters in assessing, monitoring and reporting on major credit risks.
- Monitor and oversee own portfolio exposure, taking appropriate action to ensure no limits have been breached and full compliance with relevant regulations.
- Ensuring documentation is executed in line with Zurich guidelines and oversight of movement of money
Strong communication skills and the ability to build and maintain relationships to drive business performance. - Strong organisation and/or project management skills.
- Have an analytical approach and/or experience in a financial analytical role would be beneficial.
- Underwriting experience would be beneficial but not essential as we will provide training and support.
- Knowledge of Global Captives would be beneficial.
- Experience of working with different Lines of business would be beneficial.
- Currently working towards or happy to obtain qualifications such as CII. Salary: Up to £40,000 depending on experience + excellent benefit package, The financials
