The clinical duties of the post include the following are described below, the rota will be fine-tuned to accommodate the training needs of the post holder and needs of the department.

The post holder accepts that they will also perform duties in occasional emergencies and unforeseen circumstances at the request of the appropriate consultant, in consultation, where practicable, with their colleagues, both senior and junior. While it has been agreed between the professions that they will perform such duties, the Secretary of State stresses that additional commitments arising under this sub-section are exceptions and you should not be required to undertake work of this kind for prolonged periods or on a regular basis., The Trauma & Orthopaedic department comprises 31 consultants, 2 associate specialists, 12 specialist registrars, 7 senior fellows, 24 FY2-CT2 SHO SHO level doctors, 4 FY1 doctors and 1 student ACP. We have three full time trauma coordinators and provide consultant led care across all orthopaedic sub-specialties, with daily consultant ward rounds on both sites.
