THIS POST IS FIXED TERM FOR UPTO 6 MONTHS DUE TO MEET THE NEEDS OF THE SERVICE
There are 21 Cardiology/GIM beds on a single ward in the Princess of Wales Hospital (including 9 level 2 monitored Acute Cardiac Care Unit beds). The Cardiologists work as a single clinical team and assume the management of all patients in these beds and in addition provide daily 7-day support to the Acute Medical take and provide cardiology advice for in-patients on other wards.
Within cardiology at POWH there are 6 Consultants and 1 associate specialist responsible for the provision of secondary and some tertiary cardiac services. Some services, are also provided at Maesteg Community Hospital and Neath Port Talbot Hospital.
The Cardiologists are supported by two Speciality Trainees, one Senior Clinical Fellow, one Internal Medicine Trainee, one General Practice Specialty Trainee, one Foundation Trainee level 2 and one Foundation Trainee level 1. There are also three Cardiac Advanced Nurse Practitioners, three Heart Failure Clinical Nurse Specialists and two Cardiac Rehabilitation Clinical Nurse Specialists. This post will enable this successful team-based approach to continue and develop.

We are looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic doctors to join the above medical teams working at The Princess of Wales Hospital, Bridgend.
The post is suitable for anyone who has completed Foundation Training, or equivalent.
