Full Job Description

This is replacement post/s, the remit of the postholder/s will be to work within the multi-disciplinary team providing and further developing care for patients from Child Health, and to provide and develop services to the Trust's patients. In addition, the individual will be required to play an active role in the general workload of the Care Group.

It is envisaged that the appointee will contribute to the development and delivery of aspects of these services depending upon their interests and experience.

The paediatric department at King's is a PAFTA-award-winning training centre offering specialty training to paediatric speciality trainees, GPVTS trainees, foundation doctors, and dedicated CESR support and key rotations for international trainees.

This role is for one Junior Clinical Fellow (ST1-3 level) to join the paediatric department at King's College Hospital, Denmark Hill. The post is for 3 months with possibility of extension.

All employees are expected to undertake work on any of the Trusts sites as required by the service. As an employee of the Trust, you will work in close co-operation with, and support other clinical, medical professional and managerial colleagues in providing high quality healthcare to the Trust's patients. Main duties of the job

This Post

The post will be based at Denmark Hill and this will be reviewed within 3 months of the postholder commencing in post.

This post is suitable for a doctor working at ST1-3 level with an interest in developing a career in the specialities of general paediatrics, paediatric accident and emergency, paediatric neurosciences.

Duties

Clinical: All aspects of documentation and care of medical and surgical paediatric inpatients including private patients. Attendance in Paediatric Accident and Emergency, management of patients in the Neurosurgical ward

Teaching: Assistance in conjunction with consultants, lectures and specialist registrars with the teaching of undergraduates.

Research: Involvement in the research interests of the department will be encouraged.

QI/audit: Involvement in departmental quality improvement activity encouraged.

Management: Involvement in level-appropriate management opportunities including MDT working encouraged.

£37,068 to £48,637 a year per annum plus London allowance
