Full Job Description

We are excited to be able to recruit a Junior Clinical Fellow post for 12 months.
We are looking for proactive, forward thinking and dynamic individuals to join our growing Stroke Team.
Clinical Fellow posts are 40 hours per week plus out of hours on-call .
You will work alongside an experienced team of Consultants, Middle Grades, other Junior medical staff, ACPs, as well as an experienced multi-disciplinary team, + Clinical responsibility for assisting in the investigation, diagnosis and treatment, under consultant supervision
+ Expected to attend consultant ward rounds; present cases, and discuss the differential diagnosis and management; carry out appropriate practical skills with patients
+ Responsible for maintaining a full clinical record of patients admitted to the ward; required to produce a written summary of the admission at the time of discharge; will participate in audit data collection, and attend clinical governance / audit meetings, The Clinical Fellow role offers the post-holder an opportunity to:
+ gain further enhance skills and knowledge
+ receive educational and clinical supervision (named consultant)
+ participate in weekly departmental teaching
+ attend regular grand round, x-ray and M&M meetings
+ work on specific personal goals
+ gain experience in quality improvement
+ obtain annual appraisal and revalidation
In Stroke, we aim to support and equip all of our Clinical Fellows with the knowledge, skills and confidence to be able to progress to a Senior Clinical Fellow position or apply for a post-graduate medical training programme.
Providing candidates have an interest in stroke medicine, the team welcomes applications from colleagues with full registration with the General Medical Council and demonstrate excellent clinical and communication skills.

If successful this vacancy will require an enhanced DBS check at a cost of £41.90. This cost will be deducted from your first Trust salary
In addition to this it will be a condition of your employment that you will join the DBS update service and pay the annual subscription fee of £13.
