This post is for a Junior Clinical Fellow in Urology. This is a 6 Months Fixed Term post offering an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated Medic to join a dynamic, rapidly expanding team delivering multidisciplinary acute care in Mersey and West Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust
The Clinical Fellow will undertake elective work in Urology. The successful candidate will have ample opportunity in elective activity, operative and diagnostic.The clinical Fellow will work with more than one consultant.
Due to the short term nature of the role, the successful candidate must hold full registration with the GMC and have existing right to work in the UK, at the time of application. Candidates who are not GMC registered or do not hold existing right to live and work in the UK, at the time of application will not progress through the shortlisting stage.
Interview date to be confirmed, The Clinical Fellow in Urology will be expected to:
Contribute to the care of both out-patients and in-patients.
Participate in the urology middle grade on call rota.
Help to supervise the work of the FY2 and FY1.
Help with emergency work.
Assist in the compilation and organization audit sessions at Whiston Hospital
Deputize during the day time for absent colleagues.
Assist with duties outside those normally roistered but which are judged to be essential for patient care, under exceptional circumstances.
Study leave will be granted for attendance at conferences and courses subject to the needs of the service.
The post holder will be expected to undertake administrative work as directed by the consultant urological surgeon.

Administrative Responsibilities
You are to ensre that all your administrative duties are carried out in a timely fashion. This includes letters to GP's and other professionls. Investigations are to be signed off and delt with in a timsly fasion.
Time is therefore provided for you to accomplish your administrative duties.
Teaching & Training Responsibilities
You are expected to provide guidance and supervision to the junior staff that wort with you. You will need t keep your competences up to date.
Research & Audit Responsibilities.
You will be expected to take part in audit. There is ample opportunity to under take research.
The Hospital has a regular clinical audit. All specialties participate. The Hospital has a weekly grand round, held in the Postgraduate Centre on Tuesday lunchtime. All specialties take part on a rotational basis. There is weekly urology MDT.
