A vacancy has arisen for a highly motivated, enthusiastic, assertive and committed Junior Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) to join the Inpatient Pain Service here at St George's Hospital, South West London. Our mission is'to provide a service devoted to the highest level of individualised, holistic care and to create awareness among staff of the services and education we provide.' Many patients with pain have highly complex needs, whether this be acute or chronic pain, due to multiple pathologies and psycho/social issues, which can be challenging and require expert input from our well established, specialist team. We are a resource for advice, education and support for all clinical staff, aiming to provide excellent evidence based care.,

  • To work as a practitioner to support the effective delivery of a nursing service within the specialist area
  • To manage a caseload of patients/clients
  • To ensure that patients and their families are fully informed and supported by providing clinical and social support
  • To contribute to the development of evidence based clinical nursing practice in line with current research and guidelines
  • To establish clear lines of communication within the specialty team to ensure cohesive multidisciplinary management of patientsTo link with other healthcare teams in order to increase knowledge and facilitate the care of this group of people in all healthcare settings
