Full Job Description

The Junior Finance Assistant is responsible for the accurately processing Account Payable invoices, following the correct procedures. They will also work with various stakeholders such as Project Managers, customers and clients to resolve any queries in a timely manner.,

  • Receive and verify invoices and purchase requisitions for goods and services

  • Verify that transactions comply with financial policies and procedures.

  • Ensure transactions comply with VAT and Construction Industry Scheme regulations

  • Prepare expenses journals

  • Allocate invoices to the correct purchase order and project.

  • Assist in the preparation of weekly payment runs.

  • Respond to vendor queries by phone and email

  • Respond to internal stakeholder queries

  • Processing Supplier payments on the Bank accounts

  • Coding of the credit card transactions

  • Maintenance and updating the Creditors balance sheet reconciliation.

  • Actioning any errors with the appropriate accounting adjustments

  • Review any unpaid AP invoices and payments on account.

  • Providing cover and contingency for other admin tasks as required.

    Good attention to detail, with an ability to spot numerical errors

  • Experience of using Microsoft Office Packages particularly Microsoft Excel

  • Working towards AAT Level 3

  • 1 year plus experience of of accounting and bookkeeping procedures

  • Applicants must have the legal right to work in the UK

  • Knowledge of the following programs, Microsoft Dynamics 365, Concur or equivalents

  • Posting to multiple entities and business divisions
