Full Job Description
The primary duties of the post include management responsibilities for patients on the cardiology wards during 9am-5pm during the normal working weekdays. Manchester Foundation Trust operates Cardiology Services on Wythenshawe and Manchester Royal Infirmary sites.
In addition, educational opportunities will be facilitated for all successful candidates in line with personal development aspirations. For example, these could include exposure to cardiology outpatient clinics, catheter laboratory procedures, and outpatient cardiac diagnostics. The level of involvement in these activities would be commensurate with the individuals' level of training.
A formal timetable will be arranged prior to the appointment and minor variations from the above outline may be required depending on the clinical needs of the department.
All pre-MRCP candidates will have the opportunity to join the Trust's MRCP training programme in conjunction with other Trust clinical fellows.
Main duties of the job
The primary responsibilities of the successful candidates are the care and management of cardiology inpatients on the cardiology wards, including peri-procedural care of patients undergoing procedures in the cardiac catheter laboratory.
There are many MDT and educational meeting each month, and time can be made available to attend these meetings as part of the department's commitment to the candidates ongoing CPD.
In addition, participation in audit and research activities of the department will be strongly encouraged.
