Full Job Description

  • Work closely within an integrated, multidisciplinary team of doctors, nurses and other staff.

  • Provide consultations for patients attending the clinic for management of contraception needs and related care.

  • Provide consultations for patients attending the clinic for the diagnosis and management of sexually transmitted infections and related conditions.

  • Participate in the evaluation, strategy and development of women's health hubs in Greater Manchester.

  • Provide patients with information and support to make informed choices about their relationships and sexual health.

  • Treat all patients in a sensitive and non-judgemental manner.

  • Be aware of adult and children safeguarding issues and comply with the service and Trust guidelines and policies.

  • Provide clinical leadership and supervision for clinical team e.g. nursing staff.

  • Participate in the induction of new staff.

  • Give medical advice over the telephone to incoming calls from pharmacists, doctors, practice nurses etc, as appropriate.

  • Work flexibly across a variety of clinical settings and times

  • Attend service, management and educational meetings as required.

  • Maintain clinical practice to a high standard by attending continuing medical educational programmes as appropriate.

    The candidate must have a desire to work in the field of sexual and reproductive health, with a focus on women's health. They should have a good experience, competencies and background of this area and be prepared to work independently with the support of consultants.
