Full Job Description

The successful candidate will initially be based in our London office for a minimum period of 6 months, during which time they will report to the Chief Petroleum Engineer and work closely with the engineering team. This phase will focus on gaining valuable office-based takes such as learning new software's, nodal analysis and well/field reviews. Following this office-based period the role will transition to a rotational schedule, with 5 weeks on-site at a subsidiary in West Africa followed by 5 weeks off. This role requires flexibility and mobility to address various needs within the Perenco Group. Key Tasks and Responsibilities: London Office:

  • Develop Petroleum engineering skills by applying and understanding the fundamental principles through the execution of various internal technical projects
  • Proactively learn and adapt to new industry software such as Prosper, MBal, and Sahara, to enhance technical capabilities
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of appropriate optimisation models, incorporating well and surface network analysis using for example Prosper, MBal and Gap
  • Develop expertise in utilising our in-house data management software ensuring seamless data handling and analysis
  • Perform comprehensive well and field reviews to understand the dynamic behaviours of reservoirs
  • Subsidiary Rotation:
  • Conduct comprehensive reviews of reservoir and well losses across multiple fields, identifying strategies to minimise future losses
  • Optimise the water injection system and work closely with subsidiary engineers to identify opportunities to improve water flood sweep efficiency
  • Collaborate with other team members to ensure optimal performance of beam pumps, ESPs, surface pipeline network and associated facilities
  • Provide support for production allocation and forecasting processes when required
  • Identify and develop well work opportunities, including cost analysis, engineering design and assistance with implementation

    Minimum 2:1 Masters degree in Engineering Subject
  • Basic knowledge and understanding of engineering principles
  • Must be flexible and mobile, willing to travel and explore opportunities across Africa
  • Proficient in MS Office, including data base connectivity and management
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with a wide range of technical specialists
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team and present results to management clearly
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • A proactive mindset, with a strong desire to learn and think creatively
  • Awareness of best practices to ensure safe operations that protect the environment
  • French business communication level would be advantageous but not essential
  • Previous experience in the oil and gas industry is desirable but not essential, 4-year university degree, Young graduate
