Full Job Description

To accept clinical responsibility for a designated caseload patients, and to organise this effectively and efficiently with regard to clinical priorities and use of time. To be professionally and legally responsible and accountable, as an autonomous practitioner, for all aspects of own work. To ensure high standards of clinical care for the patients under your management as defined by the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy and departmental guidelines and protocols. To undertake the assessment of patients, including those with a complex presentation, using theoretical knowledge of anatomy, physiology and pathology. To interpret and analyse clinical and non-clinical facts using underpinning theoretical knowledge to form a diagnosis and prognoses in a wide range of conditions, with guidance from senior staff for more complex patients. To formulate and develop individual patient management, treatment and discharge plans, using clinical reasoning, current evidence and a wide range of
treatment skills with guidance from senior staff for more complex patients. To demonstrate dexterity, co-ordination and palpatory skills for assessment and manual treatment of patients e.g. specific soft tissue massage and manipulation. To continually reassess patients in order to progress treatments effectively. To advise the team leader of any problems to the service to ensure quality and effectiveness of care for their patients.
