Full Job Description
Are you a natural organiser? Are you the person that family and friends turn to when a day out, get together or party needs arranging? Do you like the sound of sending film crews on location, helping to set up the studios where you record shows like TV's The One Show or Radio's Woman's Hour or Live Lounge and help schedule the staff to work on these programmes? If you have a passion for working in the media industry but are unsure where to start, consider the Junior Production Coordinator Apprenticeship. This opportunity allows you to use your problem-solving skills to contribute to delivering world-class content to audiences worldwide. You don't need any experience of working in the media industry or a CV jammed full of academic qualifications. You might be about to finish school/college, start your first job or you may want to change career paths. Either way, as long as you're over 18 when the apprenticeship starts, and have a passion for the work involved in production management, this could be your next step towards an exciting career at one of the most creative and best known broadcasting organisations in the world., As a Junior Production Coordinator Apprentice, you will gain hands-on experience in how content creation comes together, from concept to reaching the audience, in TV/ Audio or content for online. You will learn a wide range of skills which may include preparing for shoots or live radio studios and recordings; coordinating transport; booking kit and crews; issuing information the teams need via 'call sheets'; assisting with the management of budgets and assisting with coordinating staff training; helping on the studio floor, in the TV gallery or on the BBC's radio stations such as Radio 1, 1Xtra or Asian Network and ensuring that everyone gets paid! All the while you'll be learning best practice from expert BBC production management teams - making sure everyone has everything they need to film/record events; checking rules and regulations so that crews/teams can work safely and ensuring everything is documented, filed and in line with privacy and licensing policies. To understand more about what working in Production Management is like, please take a look at the following links, This scheme starts in September 2025, and you will be on a fixed term contract which means your contract is for the duration of the apprenticeship only. The duration of this scheme is 17-months., The Production Management Assistant (PMA) supports the production teams providing administrative assistance to them to ensure the smooth and efficient running of productions. This could be meeting and greeting guests, working in studios, typing up running orders and scripts, organising production meetings, arranging contributors/staff travel and processing any payments needed, as well as completing any production paperwork and in some cases scheduling resources to productions. Essentially the PMA role is supporting the production teams, whether in the office (where most audio production takes place), in studio or on location, planning and co-ordinating the teams and productions
