Full Job Description

The position of Band 6 Junior Sister/Charge Nurse, depends on excellent clinical expertise, management, leadership, IT and communication skills to co-ordinate Ward 10 on a day to day basis.
The post holders will also have assigned areas of managerial responsibility with regular liaison with the Senior Sister/Ward Manager and all members of the multi professional team.
If you are an experienced band 5 Staff Nurse looking for a challenge then Ward 10 needs you.
Effective use of resources for service delivery, staff support, education and development are actively promoted to maintain a skilled and professional workforce, To assist the Ward Sister in monitoring and managing sickness absence in accordance with Trust policy
Under direction of the Ward Sister assist in contributing to the achievement of specialty and Directorate objectives
Participate in ensuring that all staff have an annual performance review and personal development plan, and that accurate records are maintained
To maintain an appropriate learning environment for pre and post registration learners.
To teach clinical and interpersonal skills to the junior staff
To participate in maintaining effective systems for Preceptorship and Mentorship for staff
To participate in the effective recruitment of staff in accordance with the Trust's Recruitment Strategy
To be responsible for an area of specific responsibility as outlined by the Ward Sister
