Join our pioneering team at Tunbridge Wells and be a part of the future of healthcare! We are seeking a dynamic Band 6 Nurse for our cutting-edge Acute Virtual Ward. As a key player in our innovative approach to patient care, you will leverage advanced technology to provide 24-hour monitoring and treatment to patients who would traditionally require acute admission.,

  • Conduct clinical assessments using set criteria, collaborating with specialists for patient selection.
  • Facilitate patient transfers onto the Virtual Ward and ensure seamless integration with community partners, specifically KCHFT.
  • Act up as a leader in the absence of the ward manager, reviewing and identifying appropriate patients.
  • Promote and advocate for the Virtual Ward service, actively engaging with stakeholders to increase awareness and utilization., Act as a substitute for the Ward Sister, demonstrating leadership within the unit in her absence.
  • Maintain close communication with the Ward Manager on a daily basis. Cultivate positive relationships with paramedical, ancillary, and support staff while serving as a clinical advisor to the multidisciplinary professional team. Coordinate with Ward Sisters and universities to address the educational needs of students, untrained staff, and the post-basic development of qualified personnel. Assist the Ward Sister in managing the clinical area by establishing nursing care standards and adhering to agreed-upon guidelines outlined in the ward's philosophy of care. This is done to enhance practice and ensure quality care in the clinical setting. Acquire knowledge of budget control processes. Ensure the promotion of safety, well-being, and the interests of patients, staff, and visitors within the clinical area. Adhere to trust policies and keep junior staff informed of any policy changes. Consistently follow the professional conduct code outlined by the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC). Provide advice on staffing requirements for nursing services, utilising dependency studies as needed. Please note that this role may often attract a high level of applications.   • Registered Nurse with a valid license.
  • Minimum 2 years of clinical experience, with a focus on acute care.
  • Proficient in utilising technology for remote patient monitoring.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to take on leadership responsibilities when required.
