Full Job Description

We welcome applications from those who currently hold a UK NMC registration. If you currently hold an overseas nursing qualification and require sponsorship we are not currently direct hiring Internationally Qualified Nurses.
The post holder will work as part of a team to provide an safe and effective environment of care for individual patients, their relatives and carers.
They will be responsible for the assessment of care needs and the development, implementation and evaluation of programmes of care without supervision.
The successful candidate will lead the team on a daily basis to ensure excellent standard of evidence based care is delivered to our patients.
The post holder will have the opportunity to act as the designated deputy to the Ward Manager.
The post holder will coach, teach and supervise junior staff to maintain an excellent learning environment, encompassing the Trust improvement model Patient First.

Practices within the NMC code of conduct and has responsibility for promoting and monitoring this practice on the ward
Participates in assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating individualised evidence based patient care including the monitoring of care standards through audit and other activities.
Participates in the development and implementation of an explicit ward philosophy of care.
Effectively processes admissions & transfers and plans discharges in accordance with UHSussex policy and standards, including liaison with partner agencies.
Actively participates and monitors the promotion of education for patients, their relatives and colleagues and ensures these needs are met within available resources.
Ensures provision of all drugs as prescribed in accordance with UHSussex Policy, including parenteral administration.
Actively engages with Patient First Improvement Program

We are looking for a highly motivated nurse, with the possession of good clinical knowledge and leadership skills to maintain high standards of acute care to our patients. The post holder will provide nursing support on a mixed sexed ward to acute patients with a variety of different conditions relating to Respiratory, Endocrine and General Medical conditions. You will lead by example in delivering excellent effective patient centred care and ensure the safe and productive running of the ward. This is a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic and dynamic individual who would like the opportunity to learn, develop and really make a difference.
The successful candidate will be required to have recent acute experience and have a passion for supporting a team to provide the highest standards of patient care.
