Full Job Description
We are looking to recruit a Junior Sister/Charge Nurse in to our well established Discharge Unit for a 12 month secondment.

The Discharge Unit provides a vital service here at Kings, accepting patients from all adult wards and the ED department to help maintain patient flow and patient safety through the emergency and elective pathways.The shift requirement is to work long days with no night shifts.
Main duties of the job
To provide expert, holistic care of a high standard to both the patients and their relatives within the King's College Hospital.
To take charge of coordinating the flow through the Discharge Unit, ensuring maximum efficiency of bed/chair space use and facilitating early flow from the wards and ED.
To assist in the leadership and development of an identified group of nurses within the ward complement.
To act as a clinical resource within the ward and across the Care Group as necessary.
To act as a positive role model to junior staff members. Particular emphasis is put at Kings on the need to ensure that all staff recognise their responsibility to deliver services in a high quality, courteous, patient-focused manner and to always maintain patient confidentiality.
