  • We are looking for a skilled culinary professional who specializes in creating a wide variety of mouth-watering delicious desserts, pastries, and sweet goods. You must have expertise in baking techniques, recipe development, and pastry decoration, using your creativity to craft enticing treats.

    You will be an expert in preparing and baking various goods, such as cakes, cookies, pies, and bread, following traditional and modern recipes. You will also create new and exciting desserts to enhance menus and engage the guests. Additionally, you will decorate pastries using different icings and toppings to ensure visually appealing presentations. You will manage ingredient stocks, maintain equipment, guide, and train staff.

    As the ideal candidate for this role, you should have a strong background in culinary arts and a genuine passion for creating sweet and delectable treats and be committed to upholding health and safety standards to ensuring the highest quality of service to our guests whilst mentoring the team where you will be passing your expertise to the junior chefs.

    To succeed as a Junior Pastry Sous Chef, you will need:
  • To have managed various sections of a kitchen for 3 or more years within a global hotel brand or restaurant of the same classification and of a comparable size and complexity

  • To be experienced in local cuisine and have supported across a variety of service styles that may include catering meetings, social events, restaurants, and bars.

  • To have completed level 2 Food Safety certification and working knowledge of HACCP as a minimum.

  • Knowledge of appropriate (IHG brand) standards relating to food and the ability to create and deliver appropriate dishes to meet guest requests and exceed their expectations.

    At Kimpton Fitzroy London we are looking for a Junior Pastry Sous Chef to join our luxury hotel in Central London on a 12 month Maternity cover.
