Kitchen Assistant

As part of our continued growth, we now have a fantastic opportunity for a Kitchen Assistant to join our close-knit team at Longdon Park School located in Egginton.
About the role
The Kitchen Assistant will be passionate about food, wants to make a difference and will be responsible for helping to prepare and deliver lunches with serving, before helping clean up and tidy away all the equipment.
Job purpose
+ To assist the cook in general food preparation
+ To help to maintain a high level of cleanliness and hygiene in all catering and dining areas
+ To serve pupils lunch ensuring that all food safety regulations are met
+ To clean preparation equipment, areas and utensils to a high standard in a speedy manner
+ To ensure that all equipment and materials are used in accordance with Health & Safety guidelines
+ To ensure that company equipment is kept in good order and propose solutions to repair any faulty tools or equipment to the appropriate manager.
+ Undertake other duties as requested by your line manager in line with the execution of your role

+ Level 3 Food Hygiene
+ Experience of working a catering kitchen

Longdon Park School opened in June 2015. We are a co-educational day school catering for pupils aged 7 to 18 with complex educational needs, communication difficulties and challenging behaviour primarily with a diagnosis of ASD. We provide a therapeutic, supportive and inclusive learning environment where our young people learn to accept responsibility for their actions, make positive decisions and display pro-social behaviour. We are committed to raising achievement and enabling pupils to recognise their potential and supporting them through a personalised, engaging curriculum. Our priority is to develop the foundation knowledge and skills required to make a manageable and smooth transition to the next life stage.
