Full Job Description

  • Assisting in preparing, cooking and serving meals to our residents
  • Assist in washing and cleaning kitchen equipment and surfaces
  • Acting in line with health & safety and food hygiene guidelines
  • Promoting our resident's choice, dignity and independence and all times

    Team player
  • Experience working in a previous Kitchen role
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Good time management
  • Good written and oral communication skills
  • A willingness to go above and beyond to meet the needs of our residents
  • A positive and enthusiastic outlook, A good reason or experience that has drawn you to working in a care setting.
  • Live within 20 minutes of the Home.
  • Willing to sign up to an NVQ Level 2 to study on the job
  • Preferred Requirements for Kitchen Assistant
  • One years' experience in a similar role.
  • One years' experience working in a residential or nursing home.
  • Hold a relevant level 2 or 3 qualification
  • Knowledge of health and safety in the workplace.

  • Team Members under 21 will be paid at £1.00 per hour less, which is significantly above National Minimum Wage guidelines for this age group A little about Nightingale Nightingale Nursing & Care Home is based in the centre of Edwinstowe, near Mansfield. The home, although purpose-built, has been made very homely, and has a selection of garden areas, in line with Jasmine's values and ethos. The home provides personal, nursing and dementia care to 49 residents.
