Kitchen Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Kitchen Assistant to join our Local Authority Client in Tower Hamlets. This is a 17 hour per week contract. Basic DBS is required for the role. You should be able to provide 2 year work references and should have right to work in the UK., As a Kitchen Assistant, you will play a crucial role in maintaining a clean, organized, and efficient kitchen environment. Your responsibilities will include assisting with food preparation, cleaning duties, and general kitchen upkeep., Food Preparation:
Washing, peeling, chopping, and cutting fruits, vegetables, and other ingredients.
Assisting with basic food preparation tasks as directed by the chef or supervisor.
Cleaning and Sanitation:
Maintaining a high level of cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen.
Washing dishes, pots, pans, and utensils.
Cleaning and sanitizing work surfaces, floors, and equipment.
Taking out trash and recycling.
Inventory Management:
Assisting with stock rotation and inventory control.
Unpacking and storing deliveries.
General Kitchen Duties:
Following food safety and hygiene regulations.
Adhering to kitchen policies and procedures.
Assisting with other kitchen tasks as needed.

Previous experience in a kitchen or food service environment is preferred, but not essential.
Basic food preparation skills and knowledge of food safety and hygiene.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and under pressure.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to work as part of a team.
Physical stamina to stand for long periods and lift heavy items.
