Full Job Description
This is a great opportunity to work as part of a team committed to helping pupils with varied and complex needs. You will work alongside our Kitchen Manager to prepare and serve meals to our pupils and our team. When it comes to looking after our pupils, we never settle for second best. We are looking for a Kitchen Assistant, who shares our vision to build incredible futures by empowering vulnerable young people in the UK, to be happy and to make their way in the world.
Previous experience in a similar setting would be great but isn't essential as full training will be given, and the right motivation, personal qualities and levels of resilience are just as important. This role is ideal for people working in customer facing industries including retail, hospitality, and leisure, looking for a new role that makes a real difference to pupil's lives and futures.
Reddish Hall School is an independent specialist day school for boys and girls aged from 5 to 18, catering for pupils with social emotional and mental health difficulties, with a high proportion of pupils who have a diagnosis of ASC. Our dedicated team work together to ensure successful outcomes for pupils who often arrive at the school with a troubled view of education and life. We pride ourselves in steering pupils in the right direction, nurturing aspiration to progress them both academically and socially to encourage them to take pride in their achievements. Socially, we build confidence in our students, so they are able to have a greater understanding of the wider community in which they live. We are part of Acorn Education and can promise you plenty of challenges, and a rich variety of opportunities to develop your career. Acorn Education is the UK's leading independent provider of specialist education for vulnerable pupils and young people. As part of Outcomes First Group, we are leading our sector in setting and delivering new approaches that provide measurable outcomes for those in our care. We are really proud to say that in 2024, Outcomes First Group were officially certified as a 'Great Place to Work' for the fifth year running.

And that's not all, we place the outcomes of the pupil and vulnerable young adults in our services at the heart of everything we do, so you'll wake every day in the knowledge that your role will have a significant positive impact on the lives of others. We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of pupils and young people. All applicants will be subject to social media checks and successful applicants to a fully enhanced DBS.
