Full Job Description
Meopham Community Academy is a two form entry primary school set in a beautiful village location and the school prides itself on providing a happy, safe and caring environment for all its pupils. We are a busy, friendly and popular school with a warm and welcoming ethos; recognised by all who visit!
The staff, parents and governors of our school work together to provide the best for the families we serve. We want our children to enjoy their time and education with us and to achieve the highest possible standards in all aspects of their lives. We are very proud of our school and the high standards of behaviour and learning that our children achieve.
Our broad curriculum, wide range of extra-curricular activities and support for pupils were all recognised in the most recent, short Ofsted inspection in October 2018, where the school continued to be rated as "Good".
We are now part of The Golden Thread Alliance and we work closely with the other schools in the trust.
The Golden Thread Alliance is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and the amendments to the Exceptions Order 1975, 2013 and 2020 and therefore is subject to an Enhanced DBS Disclosure. In line with KCSIE guidance, paragraph 220, all candidates who are shortlisted will be subject to an online search. This search is not part of the shortlisting process itself and all shortlisted candidates will have the opportunity to address any issues of concern resulting from the search.
Two references are also required prior to commencement of employment.

The post will be for 13.75 hours per week, 11am to 1.45pm Monday to Friday, 38 weeks per year. You will be paid £23,337 Full time equivalent, actual pro rata salary of £7,333.18 per year.

You will need to be flexible and adaptable, and your duties will be varied, including basic food preparation, serving pupils and staff, and of course washing up and helping to keep the kitchen clean, tidy and safe.
As a very important member of our team, you will be expected to undertake training, which you will be paid for, and we will provide you with uniform.
Experience of working in a kitchen environment is desirable but not essential, and we welcome applicants seeking a better work life balance and greater flexibility.
Our staff benefits package includes:
+ Commitment to your ongoing Continued Professional Development
+ Two family days
+ Half-day Christmas Shopping Leave
+ Access to Local Government Pension scheme/Teachers' Pensions
+ Eyecare vouchers through Specsavers
+ Annual Flu Jab offer for all staff
