Full Job Description

As a Kitchen Porter for Sodexo in a Cheadle Hulme School, Stockport, SK8 6EF, you will be a key part of the kitchen team. You'll be responsible for maintaining exceptional standards of cleanliness within the kitchen and food & beverage preparation areas.   • Washing all crockery, cutlery, kitchen utensils and equipment, food service equipment.
  • Ensuring that the following are kept clean and tidy and to a very high standard:
  • + Floors & Walls, Bins - inside and out, Crushing and disposal of cardboard and boxes, Fridges & Freezers (with assistance of chefs), Delivery areas.
  • Maintain cleanliness and safety of working areas.
  • To be aware of and to adhere to all health and safety, fire, hygiene and COSHH regulations governing the work you are undertaking and to ensure the correct chemicals/detergents are always used.
  • Report all accidents (and near misses) to the Chef.
  • To report any shortages in equipment or chemicals to the Supervisor

    Positive attitude, professionalism, and respect for others
  • Basic food-handling skills
  • Be physically able to lift heavy items and work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 8 hours)
  • No previous work experience required.

  • Equated pay (sometimes known as spread-over pay) is a method of paying you for your contracted hours, working weeks and holiday pay spread over 12 months instead of just receiving pay during the months that you work and none during the school closures/non-working weeks. This means that you get paid equal amounts of pay every month. Further information will be supplied at interview stage.
