Full Job Description

We are recruiting for a part-time Knowledge Lawyer to support our growing litigation practice. This will be a new role in a well-established Knowledge Lawyer team within the Dispute Resolution division, working in conjunction with an experienced Senior Knowledge Lawyer.

Areas of Focus and Responsibilities

  • Lead on the planning and organisation of the education and training programme, including identifying topics, preparing materials, sourcing external speakers, chairing training sessions and delivering training.

  • Lead in assessing and implementing new technology solutions as may be relevant to dispute work, including active involvement in testing, implementation and promotion.

  • Assist with keeping the team up to date with the key developments in the fields of commercial litigation by means of internal news alerts, bulletins and update sessions.

  • Assist with the revising and updating of existing precedents and guidance notes and co-ordinating adding them into the firm's knowledge management system.

  • Sourcing and encouraging fee-earners to contribute know-how and precedent materials, reviewing contributions and co-ordinating adding them to the firm's knowhow system; generating knowhow where none already exists.

  • Providing advice and guidance on specific points of law and procedure and assisting fee-earners on research on more complex topics.

  • Working with risk and compliance to maintain procedures and documentation relevant to the team.

  • A minimum of 5 years PQE in the fields of international commercial litigation with experience of specialist areas such as insolvency, fraud, data protection or white-collar crime.

  • England & Wales qualified.

  • Strong academic background.

  • Excellent organisation skills, high work standards and detail oriented.

  • First class communication and project management skills.

  • Research skills (using hard and soft source materials), including proficient use of journals, commercial alerting/reporting services.

  • Keen interest in training and familiarity with digital media and online training.

  • Proactive in seeking out thought-leadership ideas to improve ways of working.

  • Ability to develop strong working relationships: must demonstrate well developed interpersonal skills to build confidence, trust and respect amongst the team and the ability to work with people at all levels and in different jurisdictions.

  • A team player, proactive and able to work on own initiative.

    The Essentials
  • Working hours: 9.30am - 5.30pm but can be flexible.

  • Six-month probation period

  • 12 weeks' notice period

  • This is a part-time role (3 days minimum, with potential to develop into full-time)
