Full Job Description

Eversheds Sutherland is seeking a knowledge systems assistant in the Knowledge Systems team. The team is based in our Manchester office and the role will require attendance [in Manchester] three days per week. The Knowledge Systems team are responsible for knowledge systems and strategy for the Eversheds Sutherland's international network. These systems include our intranet, our knowledge management systems and our automated current awareness programme. These are essential systems to enable the efficient operation of a knowledge-based business and connect our lawyers seamlessly with the information they need to deliver excellent client service. This role requires strong technical and organisation skills, a problem solving mentality and excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Monitoring the various team mailboxes on a rota basis, dealing with daily direct enquiries via email and Teams
  • Monitoring the various team mailboxes on a rota basis, dealing with daily direct enquiries via email, telephone and Microsoft Teams messaging
  • Maintaining and developing the firm's SharePoint intranet including advising content editors, delivering content editor training and dealing with content editor enquiries and requests
  • Following intranet governance, working with content owners on content management, including regular review and cleansing of content, new site creations, site restructures and regular search testing
  • Processing legal know-how submissions and maintaining our collections of precedent / template documentation and bibles of transaction documents, working closely with professional support lawyers across our practice areas
  • Creating and maintaining automated daily news alerts to keep our lawyers and operational teams up to date with the latest legal, business and industry news and developments
  • Supporting on key projects such as GenAI initiatives, system upgrades, new software tools, knowledge share process improvement etc

    Excellent IT skills across the Microsoft suite of programmes with an understanding of the concepts and use of GenAI. Prior experience with SharePoint helpful but full training will be provided
  • Excellent communication skills, including high quality of written and spoken English
  • Attention to detail, with the ability to prioritise and manage a varied workload, maintain quality and accuracy and provide excellent service delivery
  • Some understanding of knowledge management and/or information systems helpful but full training will be provided
