L2 / L3 Equine Groom-National Hunt Racing Yard (Apprenticeship)

Edmunds Racing is a National Hunt Yard (jumping). You will have the opportunity to work with top class racehorses and learn all about racing.

You must be experienced handling horses as they are fit competition horses.

There are multiple positions at this location, open to non-riders and riders (competent)

Duties will include:-

Attending Race Days
Clipping
Tacking Up
Mucking Out
Grooming

The apprenticeship is fully work based so not lots of time sitting in a classroom. If you did not gain a 4 or above at GCSE level we will help you work towards them whilst on programme.

Accommodation available but no own horse

You will work 5 days a week. There will be weekend work required. Racing requires early morning starts-Mid Day off-Late afternoon finishes.

Th interview will consist of a trial day at the yard.

You must have lived in the UK for 3 years or more or be a UK resident.

Training
All training will be provided on
site during your paid working hours.
Your day to day mentoring will be with your employer, and a combination
of online and in person monthly sessions will be held with your Haddon Training
Trainer Coach.

A GCSE or equivalent pass in English
and maths is beneficial but not essential.
If you do not have passes, we will support you in achieving your
Functional Skills English and maths qualifications alongside your apprenticeship.
