Full Job Description

As a Laboratory Assistant within our Histology (animal tissue) team based in Harrogate, North Yorkshire you will play an integral part in achieving our mission by providing laboratory based technical and operational support to colleagues working on studies. Whilst training you will learn a broad range of standard technical laboratory skills and techniques including how to work to Good Laboratory Practice (GLP). Duties include routine procedures and duties associated with the day to day running of the laboratory areas which will include some lifting. This will include taking delivery of samples from the Necropsy team, correct storage of samples, fixing of tissues to glass slides and stock control along with ordering of consumables. Cleaning and storage of equipment.

  • Able to work in a team, Minimum GCSE's or equivalent including Maths, English and Science
