Next Steps Once the position has closed, shortlisted candidates will be invited to a one way video interview, you will have 3 days to complete it. This will be reviewed by the Hiring Manager along with your application form to decide who is brought through to the final interview., Following full training, the apprentice would provide core support in separation science to purify and characterise NCEs from the medicinal chemistry group. The apprentice would also cover routine physical chemistry measurements as and when required and would also be exposed to automation and robotic liquid handling. The apprentice would take on a variety of tasks that would expose them to a range of laboratory techniques. Training will cover:
- Foundation in analytical, physical and separation science
- Good laboratory practice and record keeping
- Preparation of buffers and solutions
- Preparation of samples and screening plates
- Experience with analytical and preparative liquid chromatography (LCMS)
- Experience with analytical and preparative Super Fluid Critical (SFC) chromatography
- Experience with robotic liquid handling, Please ensure that you currently live within or can relocate to a commutable distance of the site
- The individual will be working within a laboratory environment and must therefore adhere to site dress code procedures and personal hygiene standards during testing activities (e.g. correct use of PPE such as laboratory coats and glasses; and removal of all jewellery and make-up upon entry into controlled clean room areas).
- The individual will be required to handle hazardous materials (e.g. chemicals, microorganisms) and so must adhere to the relevant procedures.
- The work pattern involves day and shift working dependent upon the needs of the business.
Qualifications required 5 GCSE's (or equivalent) grade A - C (4-9), including Maths, English and Science You must have gained a minimum of 80 UCAS points from a minimum of 2 A-Level subjects including Chemistry (or equivalent, e.g. BTEC) and an additional Science or Maths, - Good written and oral communication skills
