Laboratory Technician

An opportunity has arisen for a full time, Chemistry Laboratory Technician to join our team in Stoke-on-Trent. The role requires someone to be able to register, prepare and test routine samples in line with customer expectations. We are also looking for someone who, when required, can assist in the development of new in-house testing according to business demands. They must also be compliant in continuous improvement, adhere to the Quality Management system and promote a strong quality and safety culture which reflects the values of Intertek and the expectations of the customers. Key responsbilities include:

• Ensure all routine and urgent analysis is performed and reported according to customer expectations
• Communicate as required with customers regarding queries
• Maintain all equipment required for operational efficiency
• Review all procedures with the Chemistry supervisor as required and implement improvements as indicated and confirmed with the Nutritional and Environmental Manager in line with the QMS.
• Continuously be aware of opportunities for improvement in the laboratories and drive innovation
• Promote a positive health and safety culture by ensuring safe working practices and continuous improvement
• Comply with all ISO 17025 accreditation requirements and the Quality Management System
