Full Job Description

The Ink Laboratory Technician is responsible for fulfilling production requirements for inks / solutions and to maintain the Production Laboratory in good order. These inks are the key components in chemical indicators ad constitute the 'performance aspect of the products. Accuracy in manufacture and providing at the correct time are critical aspects for meeting customer technical and product availability demands. The role is unique to Albert Browne Ltd and is a cornerstone operation contributing to the ongoing worldwide success of the organisation., 1. Providing inks / solutions for production by following standard work procedures for each product, operating to a high degree of accuracy in weights, measures and timing. 1. Ensuring inventory levels of inks, solutions, adhesives and solvents for manufacturing are maintained. 2. Ensuring inks required 'on the day' are manufactured in accordance with the production plan and production requirements which may include flexible working arrangements. 2. Carrying out tests on inks, solutions and adhesives to prove correct performance before providing to QA for final approval. 3. Ensure safe handling and storage of chemicals and solvents. 4. Be competent in the use of laboratory manufacturing equipment - mixers, milling equipment. 5. Reporting any production paperwork discrepancies to the Ink Laboratory SupervisorDuties - cont'd 1. To maintain high standards of cleanliness and safety in the ink laboratory ensuring that any defects are reported promptly to the appropriate responsible person. 2. To fully comply with the requirements of the organisation's Quality Assurance systems and take responsibility for all its obligations. 8. To carry out all tasks within current safety and quality legislation and guidelines. 9. To ensure that the workplace is kept clean and tidy at all times maintaining expected 5S standards. 10. To represent the Company image as being one of high integrity at all times when representing the Company both internally and externally and behave in a manner both on and off duty befitting the Company image and standards. 11. To be an active participant and contributor in process improvement. 12. Understand the department SQDC board and how the performance of the role and department impacts other areas.

  • Preferred Experience 1. Working within an environment controlled by a Quality Management System. 2. Understanding the handling of chemistries in small and large quantities and the requirement for strict PPE use., 1. Literate and Numerate 2. Ability to meet deadlines 3. Operate with accuracy and attention to detail 4. Excellent communication skills 5. Experience of working in a team environment
