Landscape & Green Infrastructure Specialist

Neway is looking for a Landscape & Green Infrastructure Specialist to join our client based with Somerset Council., This role is starting asap, working 37 hours a week in an ongoing contract. Role purpose

• Provide specialist landscape and green infrastructure advice including pre-application discussions, evaluating and negotiation of planning applications, scrutinising detailed schemes and overseeing the delivery of new facilities.
• Establish partnership arrangements with key environmental stakeholders and community groups to move forward on a strategic vision for landscape.
• Role delivery aligns directly with the Council's vision of a greener, more sustainable Somerset.
• Strategic input into the evidence base for the Local Plan and allocation of sites in the Local Plan.
• Working closely with partners across the Council area, the postholder will provide a key role in establishing the stewardship arrangements to support the diverse landscape character of the area.
• Be the Council's landscape representative for all committees and external boards, e.g., Planning Committee, Quantock Hilla AONB Partnership, Steering Group for Farming In Protected Landscapes and Quantock Hills Landscape Partnership
