Full Job Description

We are looking for a Landscape Technician to join our Estate Service team based in Telford. Working as part of a small team of 2, as well as lone working you will be responsible for the ground works on various sites across Shropshire. The role will involve lawn mowing, hedge/shrub pruning and litter picking. We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic and a well organised team player with good interpersonal skills who has previous experience in a gardening role and knows how to operate garden tools and powered machinery. The role of Grounds Maintenance Operative will include:

  • Undertaking grounds maintenance duties such as grass cutting, pruning, weed/moss treatment
  • Ensuring all tools and equipment such as hedge trimmers, strimmers and all relevant hand tools are maintained in good, workable condition and are operated within a safe manner
  • Providing accurate and timely information on the progress of tasks, completing daily work records as appropriate
  • Complying with health and safety requirements in accordance with supplier guidelines and assessments

    Previous experience working within a similar role where operating gardening machinery is required
  • Holding a pesticide application certificate PA1 - PA6 or equivalent would be desirable
  • Good communication skills
  • The ability to manage and prioritise workload in order to meet deadlines
  • This role will involve driving on company business. In order to drive a company vehicle, drivers must hold a full valid UK driving licence

  • £23,799 per annum (rising to £25,051 per annum after 12 months, subject to satisfactory performance)
