Lapping Operator

We are seeking a skilled Lapping Operator to join our precision engineering team in Slough, United Kingdom. In this role, you will be responsible for operating lapping machines to achieve high-precision surface finishes on various components.

• Operate and maintain lapping machines to produce precision-finished components
• Set up and adjust lapping equipment according to specifications and job requirements
• Monitor the lapping process to ensure consistent quality and adherence to tolerances
• Perform precise measurements using specialised tools and equipment
• Interpret technical drawings and work instructions to meet product specifications
• Conduct regular quality checks and maintain detailed records of processes and outcomes
• Clean and maintain lapping equipment to ensure optimal performance
• Collaborate with team members to improve processes and solve technical issues
• Adhere to all health and safety regulations and company procedures
  
  Proven experience as a Lapping Operator or in a similar role within a manufacturing or precision engineering environment
• Proficiency in operating lapping machines and related equipment
• Strong knowledge of precision measurement tools and techniques
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
• Familiarity with quality control procedures and standards
• Understanding of surface finishing techniques and their applications
• Knowledge of materials science and surface properties
• Secondary education or equivalent; vocational training in engineering or a related field is preferred
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to maintain high standards of accuracy
• Strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently
• Good communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team
